A voice for traditional believers in the Church in Wales
Forward in Faith Wales
In a statement made in April 2017, following the nomination by the Welsh bishops of a female bishop for the diocese of Llandaff, the Chairman of Credo Cymru briefly mentioned the formation of a Society for Wales - to be known as Y Gymdeithas. Similar to The Society in England, it is a body of Anglicans in Wales who uphold the traditional teaching of the Church on the sacraments and the three-fold ministry in the historic apostolic succession.
Since the Code of Practice in Wales is far from clear and provision is substantially deficient from that in England, affiliation to
Y Gymdeithas is open to both clergy and laity: that is all communicant members of the Church in Wales who can assent to a prescribed formal declaration.
Y Gymdeithas exists to bring together such traditional Anglicans to provide a mutual belonging through which they can flourish and contribute more positively to the life of the Church in Wales.

Y Gymdeithas, the Society for Wales, is an eccesial body not a membership organisation. There is no subscription fee. It is supported financially by Credo Cymru.
