    Pastoral Letter from the Bishops of the Church in Wales

    At the end of last month, the bishops of the Church in Wales issued a Pastoral Letter (along with guidance notes) concerning Admission to Holy Communion. This announced a new 'policy' which means that anyone who has been baptised will be able to receive Holy Communion in church, regardless of whether they have previously been Confirmed. It will come into effect on the First Sunday of Advent (27 November 2016): just two months after the Letter was issued.

     

    The bishops recognise that both clergy and laity may find this change to be a 'real challenge' and urge that it should be "discussed as widely and carefully as possible."
